The Silcock Family has been entertaining generations of families across the North West of England for over 130 years with their classic
fairground rides and exciting seaside amusement arcades.

Explore a little deeper into the Silcock family with insights into their history from their origins in Warrington in the 1890s, to the Silcock Bros travelling Fairs in the 1900-1960, to Pleasureland Southport in the 1960 – 1990s, to Silcock’s Amusements from 1980s and their collection of historic fairground memorabilia.

Today they operate a collection of award-winning local attractions.

Their Victorian era Silcock’s Carousel, otherwise known as ‘The Golden Gallopers, was voted by members of the public as the 4th Best Seaside Attraction in the UK in the annual Bucket and Spade Awards.

Edward Silcock Snr founded Silcock’s Travelling Fairs which travelled the North of England entertaining the general public

All four sons of Edward Silcock Snr (Lawrence, Edward, Herbert and Arthur) went into the same business of their father.

Southport Fairground

In the late 1950’s, Edward Snr’s Grandson, Herbert Silcock and his wife Jane Silcock, established themselves with rides at Southport Fairground.
