Following on from our workmen discovering the old Salt's Embassy Sign whilst renovating the shop front of Silcock's Embassy and the stories that resulted we are proud to show off our new shop frontage which brings together a string of development and improvements on our Nevill Street premises.

Work on the new shop front started in early February and when the old signage was discovered (Workmen Discover Salt's Embassy) the plans for a new shop front were changed to maintain the character of the building and stay true to the old sign. Out went modern lighting, manufactured signs and in came new covings copied from the originals, hand painted signs by a skilled sign writer and the colours cream & terracotta which are along the lines of the old corporation colours of Southport.

Along the way we have had an 80th Birthday (Happy Birthday Elsie) of a lady who had her wedding reception at the restaurant 60 years ago and the original owners of Salt's Restaurant who contacted the Southport Visiter after seeing a piece in the paper.
