The Silcock Leisure Group are the latest
company to back The Champion's Southport Christmas Lights Appeal,
with a £500 donation. The Champion started the campaign three
years ago and since then festive lights have been put up in Lord
Street and Chapel Street.
The money raised from the public sector plus individuals, combined
with Sefton Council funding, will mean more lights this year.
Herbert Silcock Senior said: "We are pleased
to support The Southport Christmas Lights Appeal for a second
year. The Christmas lights are an important factor in the success
of the resort at this special time of year. Christmas is a time
for all to enjoy and I do know that Southport people and visitors
will do that in the convivial atmosphere which the lights create.
