Herbert Silcock, Chairman of Silcock Leisure
Group presented a cheque for £1000 to the Mayor of Sefton's
Charity and received his certificate for crossing the new Marine
Way Bridge on the opening day. Mr Silcock said
"We have been co-operating with the public and private sectors in
the continuing development of Southport. The Marine Way
Bridge itself has become an attraction and we are please with our
new neighbour which has opened up the vista of the Marine Lake and
makes Southport look splendid." "Crossing the
bridge on the opening day was a marvellous feeling having watched
the construction over the past 18 months" added Mr Silcock. |
