After the Southport Visiter ran a story about Silcock's uncovering the old Salts Embassy sign whilst renovating the frontage of their Nevill Street Restaurant, Silcock's received a call from the Visiter saying that a lady had written in saying that she remembered the old sign as she had her Wedding Reception there in 1942.

She also mention that it was her 80th birthday that weekend, so we jumped into action and invited her to the Embassy for a birthday lunch.

Elsie from Ainsdale accompanied by her son Peter enjoyed a birthday treat on Saturday which was the first day of opening after the new refit.

Pictured is manager Angela Grogan with Elsie Mansergh and her son Peter Rimmer.
