The Organ in its' Bioscope days

Crichton's No1 Bioscope Organ

Herbert agreed to buy the Organ for 300 Guineas. Herbert's Father returned with a trailer and the Organ was transported back home to Warrington. On the way back home Herbert's Father praised him on his purchase and told him that as a young man it was that very Bio-Scope show that he use to watch with ore when ever it visited Warrington's Potato Market.

With the onset of the new music of the sixties, the Organ declined in popularity and was sold in 1963 to a Mr Chamberlain and then to a Mr Miles who showed the Organ at rallies. It was at one of these rallies Herbert recognized the Organ and offered to buy the organ. They agreed a price for the Organ and it was now in the hands of Herbert some 17 years after he first went to buy it.

The Organ which is also known as The 'General Gordon' after the name of the conductor on the organ, takes Pride of Place in Herbert's Collection and is used to raise money for various charities and is shown at events around the North West and outside the Funland Arcade at Southport Pier during the summer.
