A New Bridge for Marine Parade

Silcock Leisure Group have welcomed plans for a new road bridge across the resorts' 86 Acre Marine Lake

Herbert Silcock, Chairman of the group said "We have had several meetings with Sefton Council officers to discuss the bridge which will be adjacent to our Funland operation at the Pier Forecourt. The discussions have allowed us to hear of the plans for the new structure and that will help us to plan further development of our company in the town"

The bridge with its modern design has been welcomed by Silcock Leisure as it will open up a direct vehicle route on to the new seafront development area of Ocean Plaza.

Mr Silcock continued, "The Bridge which will take vehicles and pedestrians, will also be quite an attraction in its own right, with its fine design that will be illuminated at night. It is obvious that the council officers from the technical services department along with the tourism division have worked together - and with the private sector to come up with what is another step forward for Southport's tourism industry".
